leave a one-word comment that you think best describes me. It can only be one word. No more. Then copy & paste this in your journal so that I may leave a word about you. Current Mood: anxious | | 6:09 pm |
Fun and games
Found out last night how much fun you can have when you combine four deviant girls, one tranny and one guy with an open mind. And then add alcohol, sily card games and Twister! Current Mood: highCurrent Music: TaTu - Friend or Foe | | Sunday, November 6th, 2005 | | 12:40 pm |
Just stuff
Has it really been four months? Blimey! So what have I done? I've started going to the Waterfront more often to continue my trend of meeting lovely but mad gals (Hi Jess!) I went to a fireworks display at an Evangelical church (horrible place, but cool fireworks) I've joined Urban Dead (www.urbandead.com) an online text zombie game. And since I've been killed twice and found fellow humans unhelpful, I've decided to stay as a zombie. Grrr! Braaaaainsssssss! And I've changed jobs, but can't talk about it (Its government related - oooh!) Current Mood: sleepyCurrent Music: Gwen Stefani - Bubblepop Electric | | Sunday, July 24th, 2005 | | 9:15 pm |
Post Party come-down
The problem with dressing up and going out like a goddess, is the comedown when you have to go back to drab. I went out to a music gig and aftershow party in my new PVC dress and full rock chick ensemble. I felt like a moviestar! Everyone wanted to say hi, I got a couple of female fans (sadly too young for me) who followed me about all night, and I failed to win the fancy dress competition, because the DJ didnt realise I was a guy. He thought I was just big gal dressed sexily! (I'm not THAT convincing but with 2 hours preparation and dark nightclub conditions...) My lesbian buddy even made an exception and we shared a drunken snog, much to the delight of her girlfriend(!?!). And now I have to go back to drab. And work on Monday morning. It's just not fair is it. But I guess it wouldn't be so special if I did it every week. And I suppose it wouldn't had the same effect on everyone if the shock/surprise wore off. Roll on Halloween! Thunderhawk
For those of you wondering aout earlier coments about scratch-building models: Here are pictures of my Thunderhawk GunshipOK so the work is basic, but you've got to be impressed by the sheer audacity of trying to build it! The only T-Goth in the village
I didn't understand Daffyd in Little Britain until today. I've just come back from an excellent weekend in Leeds. On Saurday I went to Wendy House - the premier goth/alt 80s night in the area. And I discovered that although I am a big fish in the little pond where I live, I am just a small fish, in the bigger ponds. Dont get me wrong, it was an excellent night (and I'm going to have great dreams about the cute girl with cat ears I danced with), but we were outdone in all ways - more PVC, cooler clothes, better TGing, hipper New Rocks, blacker hair etc. Puts things in perspective really. I guess we're gonna have to progress to the next level (from local clubs to regional clubs - eg the nearest city). "Chains on Velvet" here we come Oh and the trio of pirates looked excellent :) Current Mood: tiredCurrent Music: Baz Lurman's Moulin Rouge | | Thursday, February 17th, 2005 | | 9:53 am |
Busy busy busy
Off to Leeds this weekend to go clubbing at Wendyhouse, the premier goth spot of the city. Originally I planned to do EGA, but I recently picked up flying goggles and a funky mesh vest, so cybergoth it is! In other news my Thunderhawk Gunship is built and the undercoat is now drying! Pictures when its built (hopefully!) Current Mood: excitedCurrent Music: None - I'm at the library! | | Monday, January 24th, 2005 | | 6:49 pm |
Spam Journal entries!
a meme, but hopefully a vaguely interesting one ~ Scan my interest list and pick out the one that seems the most odd to you. ~ I’ll explain it. ~ Then you post this in your journal so other people can ask you about your interests. as nickedf from Fatkraken, who nicked it from Jo... | | Monday, December 20th, 2004 | | 7:09 pm |
A staggering sequence of stupidity...
Contractor's B, C and D fit my central heating on behalf of the Council (and take 13 days to do a 5 day job...) The boiler is checked, and is under 1 years warranty. A month later... Contractor A sends me a letter asking to check my gas appliances on behalf of the council. I call contactor A and explain its a new new boiler, and the council know it. It is not ready for a 1 year check up. They say they'll look into it. Contractor A turns up un-announced at my home, and oddly enough, I'm not in. They leave a note to re-schedule. I call them up, explain "its a new new boiler, and the council know it. It is not ready for a 1 year check up". They say its best to check, and we arrange a date. I have to get my mother to house sit, while I'm at work. An engineer from Contractor A turns up and says, "Oh its a new boiler, its under 1 year warranty. I dont need to check it." I think its all over... One month later I get letters from the council and Contractor A stating they are still waiting to service my boiler. I call the contractor and relate the history. They say they'll look into it, and I can ignore the council letter. I thinks it's all over again. One month later... Saturday: I get asnotty letter from the council. It tells me that if I dont arrange a boiler service they can get a court injunction to enter my proiperty and service the boiler. This could cost me £70 legal fees. The council office does not open until Monday. I fume for two days. Today: I call up the sender of the letter (from the legal department of the council). I relate the new extended tale of woe. "Oh!" says the legal bod. "It sounds like your boiler is under 1 year old, and so doesn't need servicing. I'LL SEE WHAT I CAN DO." What could possibly happen next? "Luckily, right at that moment, an unconscious Argentinian fell through my roof. He was quickly followed by a dwarf dressed as a nun." I've just been watching Moulin Rouge. Its great. If you liked any of Baz Luhrmann's other films (Strictly Ballroom and Romeo and Juliet) see it as soon as you can. In other news my first drop pod is built and undercoated. I've got to see Adam Friday and see if its up to spec and whether he still wants the rest. And find out what he's willing to pay :) My christmas tree is now up, and adorning the top instead of a fairy (stars are old hat, and angels are a bit Christian) is the dodgy knock-off Sailor Moon doll I got in Chinatown New York. Now what to do with the rest of the evening... | | Saturday, November 27th, 2004 | | 12:21 am |
Things ain't so bad
OK I'm much happier now. Work still sucks (check out the news for details of our computer crash - no, not the CSA), and my gaming buddies are invisible. But I've got a model making commision, an idea for a humourous article for my club's magazine, Freejack on DVD, and a more balanced outlook on life. Sometimes a bit of chaos can be uplifitng Current Mood: amusedCurrent Music: Punk Rock 101 - Bowling for Soup | | Monday, November 1st, 2004 | | 7:08 pm |
Minions
Brain flash. My minion's name is Lemmiwinks. I think it may be a stage name. Current Mood: annoyed | | Tuesday, October 5th, 2004 | | 6:13 pm |
The perils of dressing up
The Rocky Horror night was fantastic. With a tiny bit of persuasion I went in 'sexy goth drag'. Mixed results followed! The barman nearly had a heart attack when I spoke. "I thought you was a girl!" was his eventual quote. The girls at the bar were also surprised when the stopped and stared for a few minutes. My enforcer took a bow for her skills with hair and makeup. The bouncers were also fooled, as when they stormed the ladies loos they passed right by me and my enforcer without batting an eyelid. None of the girls seemed to notice or care either. Fortunately I was not propositioned or groped, although a friend pointed out that of the three businessmen who were watching when we passed, two were checking me out. Score! I recommend the odd spot of wearing a skirt for all fellas, it sure reduces any self consciousness on the dance floor. But remember to travel in a big group :) Current Mood: mischievous | | Sunday, September 26th, 2004 | | 2:21 am |
unrequited and stuff
Why must every girl I fancy be gay, mental or in some way, damaged goods? All was going well this night with a girl I will call "R": we'd talked, she'd tried on my top hat, I'd tried on her tiara (looked good, must think about getting one...), and then she showed me the name of the guy she fancied - CARVED INTO HER ARM WITH A KNIFE! On the plus side I gained a minion. I cant remember his name, but he is loyal and enthusiastic. I think that they automatically gravitate to top-hats (Note: requires further study). All in all the top-hat was a big success with the whole of The Crypt. Hurrah. 1-1 score draw Current Mood: pissed off | | Friday, September 24th, 2004 | | 6:17 pm |
Work gets in your way
Dont you hate how work takes valuable time away from your social life? I've got a busy time ahead 1: Repair house after contracters have fitted central heating (yay!) 2: Finish the cosplay costume that was meant to ready for Amecon... 3: Select my outfit for tommorow night at The Crypt 4: Prepare for my first proper game of 40K for two years. Ive played to 40mins version vs b'stard Orks (Curse those tin-can wearing mr-frs). But Sunday is my new Slaanesh force vs Lee's first ever Imperial Guard army! 5: Decide what to wear for next weeks Rocky Horror Show party 6: Design Boot Hill's Website 7: Pose for promo piccies for Boot Hill 8: Maybe go to work next week... Musings
Hooray! I've moved to a less sucky part of my works. In other news, I've started going to the interesting Crypt night upstairs at 151's. Its full of 17 year old sk8r/goth/punks, but there are some of us old geezers there, and the music's pretty good. AND theres a quieter bit where you can actually talk to people. Holy carp! And I finally got me a top hat in black fake velvet. Pictures when I can get Paul to dig out the camera. And I joined a band. More on that as it breaks... | | Thursday, August 26th, 2004 | | 7:25 pm |
First entry
Its a tough life working for the establishment. On one hand you are privvy to the worst mishmash of un-professionalism, shoddy procedure, low morale, and damnable lies; and on the other hand you cant share any of it without becoming the next David Shayler. "Curse my utter professionalism, and sense of fairplay. I should horsewhip the lot of them, foul rogues that they are." Thats better. Slipping into character always helps. |
